BLOOD BOWL 2: FIRST TEASER

As many of you know, I am a very active player in Cyanide's Blood Bowl Chaos Edition. I play solely in the Forum Open League. Its a Match Making league with great administrators that boot cheaters, habitual disconnectors and generally abusive players. Additionally, the upper rankings of the league are very competitive.

As for the Blood Bowl game, it is a bit buggy (way better now), no Pact or Slann (GW orders!), but I really enjoy it. I can play all day, love the graphics and interfaces.

In BBII I am hoping the bugs are fixed, we see Slann/Pact, more league controls, and team creation functions. The graphics on the above teaser look great. I'm excited for more information!

P.S- one theory is that this game will coincide with the a new GW Blood Bowl box set with LRB7. Lets hope, it would be great to have an update set and some miniatures.

Best,

Frank

The Eastern Steppes United (Chaos Pact)

The Eastern Steppes United (Chaos Pact)

Continuing with this weeks Chaos theme I present The Eastern Steppes United. This is my make shift Chaos Pact team as I am currently working on one based off of the older Games Workshop figures. I like this team, just not a huge fan of the Marauders. I really like Thorg N' Crack, Star Ogre and Fulstench Nightglow, Mutated Troll.

The Wasteland Widowmakers (chaos)

The Wasteland Widowmakers (chaos)

Ah Chaos, the bad boys of Blood Bowl. Forget the ball, kill the opponents. I think they work perfectly fluff wise, and statistic show they are not over powered.  This is one of my favorite painted teams. It looks great as a whole.

Blood Bowl Orc Strategy Guide

Orcs are the most straight forward team in Blood Bowl. They are one of the original ‘cookie cutter’ lineups that allow you to field a near perfect roster at 1,000,000 tournament value.  Their advantages are obvious:  cheap strength and toughness in spades.  Eight positional players have access to strength and general skills making them easy to develop and juggernauts at mid TV.

Weaknesses are also obvious- average speed, lack of real agility players and a nonexistent passing game. Additionally, in perpetual Match Making leagues they become outmatched by 1750+ Chaos teams. Claw/Might Blow/Piling On turns your Orcs into AG3 Wood Elves.  Claw is your enemy- and there really isn’t a great way to fight it.

The Boston Bruisers

Throughout this guide I am going to acknowledge the popularity of the various perpetual matchmaking leagues that FUMMBL and Cyanide have created. These leagues allow teams to develop into 1750+ TV monsters rather easily.  Additionally, I will offer advice on normal 8-10 person standard leagues that we all grew up playing on the Table Top edition.

Let’s take a look at a few options for starting rosters.

The Forrest Hills Fright Knights (vampire)

The Forrest Hills Fright Knights,

This is another team I touched up. It didn't come out exactly how I would like, but still a respectable paint job to field on the pitch. I like the thralls in particular, great Games Workshop models.
The Forrest Hills Fright Knights

The worst positional in the game? Perhaps.

Taste like chicken.

Dr. Acula

Her eyes washed out.... have to fix that.

Back when you had the Vampire Lord.

I dont play Vampires often, but they are a fun team. At mid TV min/maxed Vampire team can be very effective. 3-4 skilled vamps, and wrestle/fend thralls and you are in good shape. Bash teams cant cage effectively and passing teams get Gazed and annoyed. I like to score early with Vamps and play defense. It quickly becomes a numbers games with you charting your own thralls. Better to get that score in early.

The Dudley Chainsaw Massacre (Goblin)

The Dudley Chainsaw Massacre

Ah goblins, one of my favorite teams. Every now and again, when I realize I'm taking the game too seriously, I love to bust out a low TV Goblin team and wreak havoc on other coaches. There is nothing quite like when a goblin team is 'firing' on all cylinders. You can DESTROY an entire team in 4 turns.Sometimes you are destroying your OWN team, but that's the fun of t, right?

Da other Troll... working on an old GW one to replace this fat git.

The Dudley Chainsaw Massacre

Again, a tier 3 team.... But still extremely fun to play. On the flipside, there is nothing more embarrassing then losing to a goblin team... well maybe to halflings.

The Westside Werewolves (Necromantic)

The Westside Werewolves, one of the older teams I painted. Lots of conversions and not my best work. I still like the team a lot. Obviously, the Flesh Golem models are my favorite. One looks a lot like me in my younger days.
Wolves, love to play fetch. WIlly Miniatures.

Is that a baby? I love babies.

Squishy Ghouls.

The Westside Werewolves

The West Side Werewolves

Necromantic teams are top tier in BB. I have always struggled with them for some odd reason. Werewolves are great, but only really become stars with a DOUBLE on your skill roll. Mighty Blow makes their Claws deadly. Flesh Golem are slow to skill, but fantastic players. The access to General skills makes up for the ST4. Zombies with Block/Fend make for great line fodder.

I hate Ghouls.

From the deepest depths of Khemri come The Entombed. All lineman, and throwers converted from GWs Khemri line of miniatures. Mummies and Blitz-ras by Willy Miniatures.

THE ENTOMBED
Overall I am happy with how the team turned out. Painting gold is always fun. I did 'dip' the Tomb Guardians, and the dip was rather sticky. Probably ruined what would have been a great pant job. Always make sure your dip is the right consistency prior to raw dogging your whole team.

Khemri are a great early to mid tv team. They can be really frustrating to play and require GREAT cage discipline. Sometimes its better to not score, then try and force something that leads to a turnover. You are a great defensive team. Any team that can simply lose a match do to weather (heavy rain) are not tier one.
